U.S Focus In Mid-East Shifts To Afghanistan

As the United States plans for a withdrawal from Iraq the first of 30,000 additional American troops have arrived in Afghanistan to bolster those already serving there.

The decrease in violence in Iraq and the assumption of more responsibility by Iraqi police and military for security has allowed some American resources to be redeployed to Afghanistan.
